Hi all!
I have had a lot of people ask questions based around the same topic. In addition, it is a subject in which I haven't had a lot of personal experience and I am very interested myself.
I am looking for the best overall "contact form," contact organizer, etc. When you are attempting to build and obtain a contact list for your website, what approach do you use?
I am a fan of having a very short (2-3 blanks) form built into the page that is being viewed. The form would consist of:
- Name
- Email address
- How'd you hear about us
Once a customer fills this out, how is the information organized and displayed in front of you? Will your program send mass emails to your entire contact list? Does each person in the list have a profile that can be edited? What other perks does the program offer? How much does each particular action cost? Customer Service? Affiliate program?
All of the above are areas that I'd evaluate in order to locate the highest quality program. Please post opinions, experiences, recs, etc.
Thanks HP!

Hi
You don't need to evaluate all those things, you need Aweber. It has everything you need to build a successful list. We use it.
Don't mess around with your own software, sending from your own server. Many of your messages won't get delivered.
The most important thing you should be looking at is deliverability. If your messages don't get to your subscribers, what's the point of the rest of it?
Aweber is whitelisted with all the big IP's, so they have around 98% deliverability rate.
You work hard to get subscribers onto your list, don't throw that away with inferior tools. Aweber is under $20 per month and will be the best investment you'll make.
Also don't have too many boxes for your visitors to fill in. it will put them off. Either just ask for their email or name and email, no more. Most eople have found they get better conversions when they only ask for an email.
Hope this helps.

Phil,
I appreciate your feedback. Basically, my group has 3 detailed blogs/full service sites launching in early 2010 and I will begun promoting via many different ways in the near future. My plan is to go about my current business, but when a person sits into the target market of one of these three sites, they will be directed to the appropriate site for a free "limited time membership, upon launch"
Each logo is currently in the works, and I'm happy with the unique qualities thus far, but this will allow me to begin to develop a contacts list for each of the 3 sites. I did't plan on using my own software, but was in search of a "complete package," or one program/service; that does it all.
As far as Aweber, would I need to spend $20 per month x 3 for each of the sites or does 1 subscription allow for more than 1 list/group?
Thanks again Phil, need to hit the sack - I'm exhausted!
Talk to you soon!

You can have multiple lists inside Aweber it's very handy in that respect. It also can automatically email people after they sign up to your list, you could set up 10 emails for example to go out once a week after someone signs up.
Here's our link to Aweber (http://www.aweber.com/?300008)
I would concentrate on just one niche not three! If your website was about one thing then it'll rank highly for it, if it's about three then it won't rank highly for any of the three unless you have tens of thousands of backlinks :ahh:
