Free blogging sites

Can anyone recommend any good, free blogging sites please for a newbie?

Suggest blogger.com for the newbie since blogger is owned bt google, and google will auto index the blog post. Also, it is very user friendly.
Other than blogspot, wordpress is another good option

That's good advice freebiespark, the two main ones are Blogger and Wordpress.

It's better if you host your blog yourself tho as you'll get more SEO benefits

Tried to do wordpress this week and failed big time LOL but i have used blogger in the past and found it easy to use

Most web hosting companies offer an easy one-click install of WP now. I'd strongly recommend using that if you can rather than Blogger as it's far superior.

For a beginner, Blogger.com is a lot easier than Wordpress. But make sure you are using a custom domain on your Blogger blog.

There are problems with both FREE blog systems.

1. WordPress does not allow any advertising. None -NATA- Zip
2. Google's BlogSpot is ok but they have a tendency to shut a blog down if they think it is "Spammy". A lot of work can go right down the flusher without any notice.
