Selling Pages:
I agree that the selling pages should be the target and these are the pages that are easily accessible.

Content Pages:
However, we do have an increasing number of articles / posts in the blog. Hopefully this will increase the chances of pages/keywords being found via Google, and gain more visitors. Visitors arriving on these pages will see the article and links to our selling pages only.

If you arrive at the home page, the "content pages" are not visible (you would have to use the site map or search).

Hopefully, we are trying to get the best of both worlds - in your face selling pages plus content as google fodder.

Any opinions?
If you use HTML code in the right sidebar in Wordpress you can add sales text and banners into every page on the blog. This wil appear no matter how many posts you make so you can post away all day and mention the product in every five or so posts so it keeps on the front page.

So basically what I'm trying to show you is how to make sure that the words you use in your marketing, get you the results you want.

And it can make a HUGE difference. I have seen one headline out perform another by over 1000%! Do you want 1 sale or 10? It's powerful stuff.

Have a read of the posts I've done so far. I've tried to write it in an accessable way, but if you are struggling with ANY of it, please let me know and I'll help all I can.

Default Copywriting?

Of course copywriting is important.

Unfortunately for people who visit this forum do not have information about it.

You just describe the importance of copywriting without giving any details.

How to make great sales copy?

Well, I do not think people have to focus on the MONEY. If you do it, people are not

going to buy your stuff. If people focus on money, they do not focus on the client's needs.

Giving massive value is what actually matters in sales. So copywriting is not the actual

thing that matters, it is just a symptom. Finding the symptoms, doesn't mean you have the

cure ...

COPYWRITING!!!

Master this skill and your sites really will convert like crazy because copywriting is the key to conversion.

Good copy + good offer = cash.

It really is that simple. In fact good copy + bad offer has still made many marketers a fortune. Plus it's not as difficult to learn how to write good copy as you may think.

So I'm going to start posting my guide to great copy, piece by piece. I've studied copywriting for years and I love it, because it's actually all about psychology as you'll see.

So first of all, always remember that visitors to your site are usually in the market for what you’re selling. People will not just wander onto your site, they’ll arrive because:

• They’ve clicked on one of your ads
• They’ve read your article and clicked on your link
• They’ve read your comment on a forum and clicked on your link
• They’ve found your site in the search engines because they searched for
your site subject (keyword)
• They’ve clicked on some other form of advertising or self promotion

In other words, when they arrive at your site, all you have to do is convince them they’ve made the right decision. Now before you run off screaming, please understand, you don’t have to become a copywriting expert. But it would help if you understood the basics.

And I mean really help. Then as you go along you can build your knowledge and techniques.

Rejection free selling

Copywriting can best be described as “Salesmanship in print”. It’s persuasive writing that aims to get someone to do, something you want them to do. It could be to buy your product, sign up for your list or click on one of the links on your site.

Now don’t panic about the word “Salesmanship”, because unlike a normal salesman, sorry . . salesperson, you never have to face your prospect.

You don’t have to cope with the rejection attached to real world selling. Simply because the only way they can reject YOU is if they don’t buy your product, click on your link etc etc.

The good thing is, if people aren’t doing what you’re asking them to do you can simply change your copy. Maybe your headline, your benefits, your call to action.

You could simply change these, one at a time, and log the results. Did they make your conversions increase? Or decrease? Perhaps there was no change?

That’s the great thing about having a website, you can change things in minutes, watch the results, then keep or discard the changes. I’ve actually seen examples of changes to a sites copy, improving conversions by 400%, 500%, even up to 1000%!!

When you understand the main principles of copywriting, marketing becomes so much easier and so much more effective.

So what are the main principles? Well to start with you need to learn about headlines . . . and that's where I carry on next time.

Make sure you look out for my next post.

Phil

Cool

Copywriting is really essential to getting something to sell. There are a couple of "However" catches you must watch out for when marketing on the net.
  1. However 1. Contextual Relevancy
  2. However 2. Syntactical Variance (textual similarities in the writing).

There are thousands of Internet Marketers (IM) selling the very same thing that you are trying to sell. If you write a brilliant article but it doesn't relate to what you are trying to sell then you are missing the boat for "Contextual relevancy"

If you keep you article targeted toward your subject but have a tendency to jump to your handy Thesaurus for clever words and pick the wrong one then your Syntactical Variance boat will sink.

Here's an classic example of a misuse of a Synonym. Remember, you deal with SERPS more than real people.

Conceive:
Part of Speech: verb
Definition: understand

Part of Speech: verb
Definition: create

A real person may spot the difference but Google/Yahoo/Bing will probably read it wrong.
And, if the SE's see it wrong you can pretty much bet that a real person won't even see it.

That's not fair! Of course not! But remember that you deal SE engines when you deal with the web.

There are a lot of things that go into a good, "Unique" article but these are the two obvious things that pop up all the time.

Yes, content is important too, depending on what kind of site you are building. I never build content sites myself. I prefer salespages or squeeze pages.

When someone arrives at a site with 15 different things to choose from on the homepage, they are less likely to buy. They have multiple decisions and may get confused.

If they arrive at a salespage they have ONE decision . . . buy or leave. THIS is where copywriting rules the roost. I have had salespages convert at over 10%.

Then of course we have squeeze or opt-in pages. Simple page . . . enter your email for this free info. We have squeeze pages that convert at 60 %. So for every 100 visitors we get 60 emails of people we can continue to market to.

That's POWERFUL! It's how ALL the top marketers online work. They build huge lists and then joint venture with other marketers, sending messages to each others lists and making a fortune in the process.

Content sites are good for Adsense earnings and to keep your visitors interested AFTER they have signed up for your list.

Of course it's a matter of choice. I like your wedding speech site by the way. You use a good headline!

Phil
Thank`s for good info.
