Hi guys,
Just wondering, I did not start out with the intention of selling my own products as I want to be an affiliate only. I like the products for sale here and I also have a couple from Clickbank that I have in mind to promote. My question is, is it better to write posts on particular products and add the links in the post or set up a page for those products alone? Should I have some sort of product listing for the products I am promoting? I don't want to bombard my site with banners. I would like to keep it simple and clear so readers find it easy to read and will want to navigate through it. But ofcourse, I do want to make money. Any suggestions? Thank for all you guys offer! P.S. any ideas where I can get good free stuff to add to my "free stuff" page? Ebooks or just anything that my readers would appreciate will do. |

Hi evelynmel,
Add a new post about a particular product, make sure you aim for a mega keyword for it (example: "[product name] scam") You don't need any banners but an image would make your post more intresting, just add a big link at the bottom of the post saying "Click here to visit the official [product name] website" and make sure it's in blue, underlined text. As for free stuff you could use the free program "open office" to create your own .pdf's or there's lots of free to hand out .pdf's on all sorts of make money subjects already out there which you can give away legally. Perhaps you could show people how to use wordpress or show them how to setup hosting through your host gator link ![]() Good luck,

I think you'd actually be better to use pages for your product reviews Evelyn and keep the posts for your news/articles. The reason being that pages in WP are designed to be used for static content, whereas posts are more for updates.
I've worked with WP a lot over the years (I used to provide support for StudioPress.com) and this is the way I set up a lot of my own sites too. |

Your content is great Evelyn, but I'd change the WP theme you're using to a magazine theme. Those work much better than standard blogs for just about everything. Blogs are good for diaries or site updates, but that's about it... more of a website type look/feel makes for a much better user experience.
Try StudioPress.com or Google "magazine wordpress theme" as there are plenty available now. SP are the best though, by some way too. |

Drop me a line if you need any help changing your site over to one of those magazine style themes Evelyn. Obviously your choice, it's your site afterall, but if you need a hand with anything WP related just ask.

What exactly is a magazine style theme? I am not sure I've ever seen one. I do appreciate your offer and just might do it, it I know what it is.
